Technology Tools and Deafness

Digital White Boards

Electronic Board Systems are incredible tools for all learners. The visual and interactive nature of this technology is especially important for Deaf learners. Teachers who have begun using digital white boards have made comments such as "I don't know how I taught before having this technology." This tool transforms the classroom as it keeps students focused during transitions between different activities and types of work. The teacher and students have access to present information from their computer in front of the entire group. Teachers can move between activities, Web sites, rubrics, examples and more without losing a step.

We have a page dedicated to information about and resources for interactive digital white boards. This page provides an overview of the technology, links to the different vendors, lists of interactive websites to use in different subject areas and links to download software related to digital white boards.
