Materials Every Itinerant Teacher Should Have in their Virtual Office

  • Binder with all paperwork for student caseload
  • Contact names, addresses, and phone numbers
  • Individual folders for each student including:
    • Student IEP Goals copies
    • Copies of students' audiograms
    • Work samples for each student
    • Communication logs to document communication with families and schools
  • Cart or crate on wheels
  • Map of County or Counties
  • Organizer (Paper or Personal Digital Assistant- PDA, for digital copies of documents)
  • Office Supply Kit (paper, pens, markers, paper clips, sticky notes, three-ring hole puncher, mini-stapler, etc.) - During "back to school" weeks there are many materials featured for student backpacks and lockers that work well for those of us on the go.
  • Digital Camera
  • High-Tech Items - Laptop Computer, portable printer, portable scanner, digital pen (Logitech's ioPen), wireless Mimio (digital capture of white board content)
