Information about the career education courses offered at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind. Information is also available about certificates offered and jobs held by FSDB graduates.

PEPNet- http://www.pepnet.org/
Postsecondary Education Programs Network is funded by the US Department of Education and Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services. The goal is to assist students who are deaf and hard of hearing in having successful postsecondary experiences. Lots of information and FREE resources are available.

Postsecondary Education Consortium (PEC) - Florida Statewide Outreach and Technical Assistance Center (SOTAC): - A statewide network of people interested in issues relating to Transition from High School to Post-High School for individuals who are deaf/hard of hearing has been established.  They have a great website at http://www.pecfla.org.

One section features the life stories of adults working in Florida who are deaf/hard of hearing.  Another section advertises post-secondary education programs, resource information, materials, etc. This is a great site for career education information for students and their parents as they seek post-high school opportunities.

PEPNet offers two online modules specific to deafness. They are WONDERFUL!!

Gates to Adventure is designed for students who are deaf and hard of hearing aged 14 through adult. The goal is to increase students' understanding of skills needed during the transition from secondary to postsecondary education.

Online Orientation to serving students who are deaf and hard of hearing. This is an excellent online informational demonstration designed for those in the post-secondary environment serving students with hearing loss!! The information is valuable to teachers serving students who are the deaf and hard of hearing at any level.

On the Job - http://www.fsdb.k12.fl.us/rmc/on_job/
This is an integrated unit focusing on career exploration and vocational education for the middle school aged student. It was developed for students having other exceptionalitites as well as being deaf or hard of hearing. There are many handouts available for you to download and modify to use in your own classroom.
