anAtlas - http://www.harryhooie.com/
anAtlas is a simple yet powerful tool for locating places on Earth. Detailed results are listed and displayed on a map of the world. anAtlas can search its local database of over 60,000 places, or search more comprehensive databases via the Internet.

Geography - http://www.greatestplaces.org
This is a really neat site that was designed to accompany a film called "The Greatest Places". According to the web site, the film is playing worldwide. I'm not familiar with it, but even so, there is some great information at this site.

Mapping Theme Page
Collections of useful Internet educational resources within a narrow curricular topic and contain links to two types of information. Students and teachers will find curricular resources (information, content...) to help them learn about this topic. In addition, there are links to instructional materials (lesson plans), which will help teachers provide instruction in this theme.
