Reading Misty of Chincoteague? I always liked this book because I love horses,
but also because my parents used to live near Chincoteague which is on the
Eastern Shore of Virginia. We visited the island and saw the wild horses when
I was little. This site takes you to a webquest that has been created to accompany
the book, Misty of Chincoteague.

This teacher-created web site contains a synopsis with instructions for a seven-week
sixth-grade (hearing) unit on Treasure Island, as well as a day-by-day calendar
for students and parents to follow. The unit includes researching pirates
using selected web sites, learning 32 parts of a schooner for a seaman's
test, and playing a treasure map game. Be sure that you read and honor the
